The Talk Therapy Plateau: Been There, Done That
First, talk therapy is fantastic, it saved me in more ways than I can count. There’s something magical about venting to someone who listens without judgment.
While talk therapy is amazing for understanding your anxiety, it mainly works with your conscious mind. Your conscious mind is the part of you that makes grocery lists and debates whether pineapple belongs on pizza (for the record, I’m not team pineapple). It’s where all your logical, rational thinking happens.
Understanding anxiety is a huge step forward. But once you've got a handle on understanding your anxiety, you may start to feel like you’re running on a treadmill. You're doing all this work, but you’re still stuck in the same spot. Your conscious mind is like, “But why am I still freaking out every time my boss calls me into a meeting?” That’s where things can get a little frustrating.

The Subconscious: Where the Real Magic Happens
Let me introduce you to your subconscious mind, where the real magic happens. Your subconscious mind is where all your deeply rooted beliefs, habits, and emotions live. It accounts for 95% of your brain.
Example: Your boss calls you into a meeting! Imagine you have a subconscious belief that you’re not good enough or always messing things up, possibly stemming from an experience that you might not even remember. When your boss calls you into a meeting unexpectedly, your subconscious mind might immediately trigger anxiety, thinking, “What did I do wrong?” or “I must be in trouble.”
This limiting belief fuels a narrative that something bad is about to happen, even if the meeting has nothing to do with a negative performance review. The anxiety kicks in, making you feel nervous, stressed, or panicked as your mind races through worst-case scenarios.
Fear not… GOOD NEWS… the subconscious mind can be re-wired. Through various modalities, you can change the beliefs stored in your subconscious.

Breathwork is a deep exhale, for your body. With a specific breathing pattern (conscious connected breathing) you can release all the stress and anxiety stored in your body, often without even realizing it was there.
