Here’s How Breathwork Changed My Life
Have you heard my story yet?? How Breathwork accidentally (magically) changed my life…
GET THIS. I was never a meditation girlie. I listened to the guided meditations, tried a few free apps, I hated trying to sit with my legs crossed, my mind always wandered, and I came to the conclusion that meditation just wasn't my jam.
While spending two weeks in California (praying that the sun and ocean would somehow heal my crippling anxiety, PTSD and deep depression… that’s a wholeeee other story), I found myself signing up for the free class pass at the wellness studio beside my Air BnB. Honestly, I just needed something to do to kill time before my dinner reservation.
*insert Breathwork baby*
The free class was, of course, a Breathwork class. I had no idea what to expect. And that class cracked me wide open and changed my life in an instant. Why? For so long I was reaching out to other things to fix me or heal me (my therapist, my job title, the number on the scale and in my bank account, etc). I relied on something outside of myself to feel better, and the “feeling better” never lasted long.
In one Breathwork class, I released years of anxiety, sadness, stress and grief… I quite literally, exhaled it out of my body. Sounds a little woo-woo I know, but I pinky promise it’s true. I layed on that yoga mat at the end of that class and silently cried, tears of joy, because for the first time ever I felt like I did something to create this change. I did that. And I had this free tool inside me all along.
When I came home, I started doing 10 minutes of Breathwork every morning. I started feeling lighter (I actually lost 12 lbs), my panic attacks were non-existent, I had way more energy, I rarely felt anxious, and I was so hopeful for my future. People around me even started saying, “you look different… what’s changed?” Swear.
When I discovered the power of Breathwork, I knew it was going to be life changing. I’ve completely transformed my life, and have gotten to share this gift with hundreds of people.
I guess I’m a meditation girlie afterall.
